Your Daily Dose | Kanye's Summer Job?? WTF!
Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 11:32AM
Yessir! Seems like KanYe West landed him a summer gig at none other than... THE GAP! It seems Mr. West is working at GAP to learn more about the business of fashion, as he plans to launch his own clothing line soon. US Weekly was tipped off by a source saying, "He works all the time, and one Friday night recently he stayed until midnight. He is learning the fashion business from the inside and trying to do it quietly." Okay 'Ye... make MORE money!
Your Daily Dose | Justin Timberlake, "King of Pop"? NOT!
Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 10:47AM
As we all are still mourning the loss of Michael Jackson, I check out PanacheReport.com today to find out that allegedly there's rumors going around that Justin Timberlake is trying to become heir to the title, King of Pop. PanacheReport.com writes, "Rumors continue to circulate that powerful forces in the music industry want Justin Timberlake to take over the "King Of Pop," title after things settle down concerning the demise of Michael Jackson." I myself find this hard to believe considering no one will be able to fill the void of what Michael Jackson accomplished in his legacy of music. Also, Justin has always made it known that Michael was his inspiration, as a matter of fact Justin recently released a statement according to US Weekly saying, "The thing about Michael is the memories. I'm lucky enough to have memories — actually, physically — with him onstage and off. To create the things that he created with his music is untouchable. He opened the minds of the world to be able to do that through his music... [it's] a feat not accomplished by many people, maybe only a handful of people. I don't think anyone ever did it like him." I believe this alleged rumor is just that - talk and chat 'bout that is untrue! NEXT!

Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 3:58AM
West Coast gangster rap icon Mack 10 is preparing to set the summer ablaze with the release of his ninth CD, Soft White (Hoo-Bangin'/Fontana/Universal) on August 25, 2009. “I went with that title because this album right here is just raw and uncut, it’s just me” he says, “We had fun on this one and I had to bring them all out, I’ve been smiling all year.” The first single So Sharp features two of hip-hop’s biggest names, Lil’ Wayne and Rick Ross. In addition to the heavyweight single, Mack Dime’s entire album boasts an all-star list of cameos, including Anthony Hamilton, J. Holiday, Akon, Birdman, Jim Jones, Jazze Pha, Red Cafe and Glasses Malone among others. Be on the look out for this one if you're a true rap fan!

Your Daily Dose | Bleu Magazine Celebrates 3 Years!
Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 2:52AM
Y'all know I'm a little slow at posts sometimes, but I had the chance to attend Bleu Magazine's 3 Year Anniversary event at the Greenhouse in lower Manhattan last week Friday. (Sidenote, for Greenhouse to be so eco-friendly of a club its still extremely swanky! Definitely need to look into hosting an event there myself!) The event was sponsored by Ed Hardy Vodka, Sprite Green, and CONAIR. Def Jam Recording group Elecktrik Red was in the house hosting and performing. Be sure to check out the photos I snagged while working the red carpet there here! De'Von Christopher, (pictured) publisher at Bleu Magazine does a great job at what he does with the publication as it is a celebration of the urban man and his experiences, as expressed through fashion, entertainment, culture and music. Especially in a time when most print publications are folding, that's not the case with Bleu. That evening the magazine even had a after celebration at Club Promenade that had celebrity guests Teyana Taylor and R&B songstress Brandy in the building! That's major!! Check them out at www.TheBleuMag.com! Shout out to Ra-Fael from 2R's Ent for the invite!
